The celebration is merrier at the longhouses in the interior where major ethnic communities, Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu carried out traditional rites. In the towns, the Dayaks welcome relatives and visitors to their homes.

The celebration began on Wednesday night with a grand dinner in major towns in the state where patrons were treated to traditional songs and dances.

The theme for this year celebration is "Marching Together Towards Vision 2020."
