KUCHING: Sarawak’s top and up-and-coming Dayak recording artistes will be honoured at the first-ever Dayak Music Awards 2008 here on Sept 27.
The “Most Successful Dayak” male and female singers will each receive RM5,000 and an “Oscar.”
Other awards are for the Best Dayak Male and Female singers, Most Promising Dayak New Male and Female singers, Best Dayak Song Composer, Best Produced Album of the Year, Best Dayak Patriotic Song, Best Dayak Song and Best Lyrics.
Organising chairman Datuk Celestine Ujang said 29 awards in eight categories would be presented during the biggest gathering of Dayak artistes and musicians at the Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel.
