LIMBANG town came alive over the weekend with thousands of people coming from all over the division and from neighbouring Brunei for Pesta Babulang, the annual festival organised by the Bisaya minority group.
Buffalo races, beauty pageants, food fairs and songs and dances added noise and colour to this usually quaint and quiet town in northern Sarawak.
Head of State Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin, his wife Toh Puan Norkiah, Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk James Dawos Mamit, Second Planning and Resource Management Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and a host of dignitaries were present during the two-day festivities that started on Friday and ended yesterday.
Dawos said the festival should be turned into a state-level event and promoted more aggressively.
