Grand Margherita Hotel in Kuching has opened its newly renovated Serapi Wing after a hiatus since January this year.
The wing consists of 139 rooms which was completed in phases in June and the Executive Club Lounge located on the fifth floor.
All in all, the cost of renovation totalled up to about RM14mil, which was RM31mil less than the renovation required if it was carried out under its previous management, said Assistant Tourism and Heritage Minister Mong Dagang during the opening.
“It was a timely enhancement as it had successfully transformed and refreshed the entire look of the hotel, so that it would remain at the front line when it comes to providing excellent products and services to guests and patrons,” he said.
