KOTA KINABALU: AirAsia will be withdrawing its seven-time weekly Kota Kinabalu–Clark route effective 1 February 2013 for commercial reasons.
A statement from the low-cost airline yesterday said that affected guests who hold bookings after these dates will be offered options to mitigate the inconvenience caused as a result of the route withdrawals. All affected guests will be contacted by AirAsia customer service personnel to inform them about the suspension as well as the options available to them.
Guests will be able to move their flights to an earlier date to or from Kota Kinabalu or Clark without any extra charges and subject to availability, be offered a credit shell for the value that they paid with a validity of three months, or get a full refund.
The statement said the route suspension is for the Group to realign its business plan and strengthen its operations to focus on markets where it can build a leadership position in 2013.
