KUCHING: AirAsia Bhd (AirAsia) is offering 10,000 free seats for flights between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia for all Malaysians to enjoy as part of the ‘1Malaysia Integration Programme with AirAsia’ launched last Saturday by Prime Minister Datuk Sri Najib Abdul Razak.
The free seats are available for booking at www.airasia.com to all Malaysians who have a valid Malaysian Identification Card (IC), on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, for a full 24 hours beginning 0001hrs (GMT+8).
These free seats will be for the immediate travel period from January 14 to February 4, 2013.
Fares and fuel surcharge are waived and only airport tax are applicable for these free seats offered.
AirAsia’s chief executive officer, Aireen Omar commented, “When AirAsia was started, the aim was to tighten the bonds that make us all one nation, one people.
We knew it was difficult and costly for East Malaysians to travel to Semenanjung and vice versa, and it was our mission to help in the process of national integration.
“We began with a handful of flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, followed by routes that were never done before and to date, we are the ‘sky bridge’ that connects more than 2.5 million Malaysians annually across the South China Sea,” added Omar.
