SANDAKAN: The Year of the Rooster was indeed an excellent start for Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan.
The hotel ran a full house with visitors from all over the world who were extremely pleased with the acrobatic performance enhanced by thunderous rhythmic drum beats, believed to drive away the evil.
The management team of the hotel comprising of various ethnic groups of Sabah and other Malaysian races joined hands to usher in the New Year.
General Manager, Peter Padman of Indian ethnicity was extremely pleased with the response from his hotel guests.
“They commented that the performance was of high quality and that they were blessed as this was a rare opportunity especially coming from countries like Russia, Sweden and India,” Peter said.
Other management team members of mixed ethnicities, Charlister, Maxwell and Gordon (Sino Kadazan), Julfikar (Bajau), Azizan (Brunei), Rosmi (Malay) and Daniyal and Jimmy of Chinese descent felt the bond of being 1Malaysia although the festival was mainly celebrated by the Chinese community.
