Award winning Malaysian Rainforest World Music Festival returns to Borneo

The Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) is one of the world's most popular music festivals, and this year record numbers are anticipated to descend on Kuching, Sarawak to attend.

The RWMF, now in its 15th year, was named for the third consecutive year as one of the top 25 Best International Festivals by British world music magazine Songlines.

The three day annual festival will take place from 13-15 July, bringing world renowned musicians and local indigenous musicians together in the heart of Kuching’s rainforest.

The event features afternoon informative workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts, but the highlight of the event is the evening performances by local and international acts on the main stage.

The event at the Sarawak Cultural Village will feature one of the island's own, Zee Avi. Having returned from touring at South by Southwest, Outside Lands, and Bonnaroo, the twenty-five year old recently picked up an International Youth Icon Award.

In addition to Malaysian artists, the festival also attracts top world music performers from Korea, Turkey, Taiwan, West Africa, Congo, Mongolia, Palestine, the Brazilian Amazon, France, Spain, Scandinavia, Czech Republic, Reunion Island, and more.
