Four new hotels for Labuan


LABUAN: This duty-free island is to see the construction of four new hotels to ease the shortage of hotel rooms, Labuan Corporation’s deputy chief executive officer (development) Jusoh Saleh said yesterday.

Two three-star grade hotels were being constructed, one of which would cost some RM26 million, he said.

Two more hotel development projects in the pipeline are the Labuan Times Square with 192 rooms and Lazenda Central with 200 rooms.

Jusoh said their construction would boost tourism on the island as well as its economy.

Labuan Corporation, through the Labuan Tourism Action Council, would continue with efforts to turn the island into a premier tourist destination, he said.
