Catch Kamafei at next month’s Sarawak Rainforest World Music Festival

KUCHING: Be entertained this July as the Kamafei graces the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) stage for the first time.

A five-piece musical powerhouse from Salento, South Italy, they play the traditional music style of that region called ‘pizzica-pizzica’ which is an Italian folk dance that dates back thousands of years.

While this traditional style is built on the frenzied rhythm of the tambourine, Kamafei will be combining it with modern-day influences of reggae, dub, rock, flamenco and hip-hop to create an infectious fusion of cultures and traditions.

Kamafei’s show promises to be enjoyable, intense and innovative.

Through their music, you will understand their bonds to tradition, their land, as well as their need and desire to discover other cultures and other musical experiences. So put on your dancing shoes and join Kamafei at the 14th edition of the RWMF on July 8-10 at the Sarawak Cultural Village.
