Sabah Museum to put up whale skeleton exhibit in 6 months

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Museum officials are hoping to complete the preservation and mounting of the skeletal remains of a 22m-long Bryde’s whale within six months.

Museum director Datuk Joseph Guntavid said the remains would be mounted chest-high and exhibited at the Sabah Museum foyer.

“This is a masterpiece that deserves prime space at the museum,” he said. The Bryde’s whale was found beached in shallow waters off Pulau Gaya on Dec 15. It died two days later at the spot.
