LABUAN: The best hotels as well as hotel architecture, interior, construction and design across the entire Asia Pacific region were celebrated at The JW Marriott Hotel in Kuala Lumpur recently.
The leading companies behind these winning hotels and hospitality projects were invited to attend the Asia Pacific Hotel Awards held in association with HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad to receive their prestigious awards.
The hotly contested awards included categories for specific types and sizes of hotels.
Tiara Labuan Hotel, nestled amongst a lush landscape at Tanjung Batu here, offering accommodation ranging from deluxe timber chalets to 5-room villas that surround two swimming pools won the ‘Highly Commended Award’ 2012-2013 in the Resort Hotel category for Malaysia.
The managing director of Tiara Chai Tze Khee, said he is happy and humbled by the award for the resort within the city that carries the ‘Home of Tropical Experience’ tagline.
“Credit must go to our resident manager, John Chin for his leadership and the Tiara team, for their dedication. This will spur us to further focus on our quest to provide the type of services and facilities expected by our guests.
“My gratitude goes to everyone who has patronised Tiara. Our development is made possible through their support and I believe this award brings honour to not only the hotel, but to the Federal Territory of Labuan as a whole,” said Chai, who is also the managing director of Palm Beach Resort and Spa, a 245-room property situated on 17 acres of private beach and garden at Manikar Village here.
These awards, combined with other regional hotel awards’ programmes for Arabia, Europe, Africa and the Americas, form the globally renowned International Hotel Awards.
Judging is carried out through a meticulous process involving a panel of over 20 experts covering every aspect of the hospitality business.
Top scoring winners of five-star awards will now go forward to be re-judged against those from the other regions to determine the ultimate World’s Best winners.
