Borneo Dayak Cultural Festival ideal for preservation of Dayak culture

SIBU: The Borneo Dayak Cultural Festival (BDCF) 2013 is a great platform to introduce and preserve Dayak culture heritage.

Assistant Minister for Culture and Heritage Liwan Lagang said the festival was also capable of uniting the Dayak community.

“The diversity in the cultural heritage of the Dayak community is advantageous to all of us because it can unite the Dayak community in the state,” he said at the opening ceremony of the BDCF in conjunction with the Borneo Cultural Festival (BCF) at Town Square Phase I here on Saturday.

Liwan said cultural heritage must be preserved for the benefit of future generations and to move forward.

“In preserving cultural heritage, we must take a strong and innovative approach.”
