Sarawak Regatta - A World Class Event and Race for World Peace

Sarawak regatta dated back to 1872 has come of age.  It is race for world peace.

In fact Borneo is in the forefront branding peace.  More than 80 ethnic groups lives in peace, harmony and united in pursuit of social, economic and political stability.

This is the most peaceful place to visit and bring home souvenirs in all kinds of shapes, color and at very affordable prices. Certainly some items can be customized.

Make Borneo, especially Sarawak and Sabah your holiday destinations of choice. Outsiders should take up the offer to make Malaysia a place to live through the program “Malaysia My Second Home” or the “Silver Hair Program”.

Touching on the distinct history of these 150-year-old long boats races, the journey has been awesome.

This exciting event is held yearly along the Sarawak river waterfront, fronting the Astana (home to the governor or Tuan Yang Terutama Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak).

Being a premier event, neighboring countries are constantly invited to watch the keen and heated competition manned by locals.

Foreign teams also take part in the competition yearly.  Winning long boat will win the prestigious title of Raja Sungai or King of the River.
