Sarawak Rainforest World Music Festival: Dance to the beat of Kanda, the bongo man

KUCHING: Kanda is the man who single-handedly gave the world the infectious Kwasa Kwasa dance, and one of the pioneers of Congolese Soukous music. His songs are catchy, the groove is infectious; he is sheer charisma on stage, and his dancers and their hips are guaranteed to bring the house down.

His music has always been driven by optimism and happiness, and his exhilarating performances are fast moving and exciting combinations of dance music and dance moves rooted deep in the Congolese tradition.

As the famous saying goes – “If Kanda the Bongo Man don’t make you want to dance, call an ambulance. You’re dead.” This is the ultimate in ‘feel-good’ dance music and a highlight to any programme.

Kanda and his band will be the closing act of the Rainforest World Music Festival. This is a band not to be missed!
